Summary
Join National Power, LLC as a Level 4 DC Technician! This role focuses on testing, inspecting, and ensuring the quality of DC power equipment, including live power distribution verification. You will manage a team of installers, overseeing all phases of DC power system installations and serving as the job site supervisor. Responsibilities include comprehensive testing and inspection of DC power systems, quality assurance reviews, and supervising volatile work activities. Requirements
- High School Diploma / GED
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in DC power equipment installation
- Minimum of 4 years of experience adding or removing wiring and connections on non-equipment on DC power equipment or telecom batteries (skill sets for a Level III installer)
- Travel approximately 100%
- Work different shifts (swing shifts)
- Lift at least 40 lbs
- Use a lifting technique to maneuver, install or remove 80-750 lb. batteries
- Push or pull cables up to 60 lbs
- Climb ladders up to 8 ft
- Work/stand on ladders for long periods of time
- Stand continuously
- Frequently reach above, below or at shoulder level
- Frequently bend, twist or stoop
- Frequently crouch or squat
- Be exposed to central office / cable office environment with moderate noise levels and nominal variations in heat and cold
- Work with computers that result in extensive exposure to Personal Computers (PC) and Cathode Ray Tube (CRT) screens
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive testing and inspection of DC power systems and equipment
- Perform detailed quality assurance reviews of new installations and existing systems
- Execute testing procedures which verify product/applications compliance with industry standards
- Perform work operations on working equipment or circuits without direct supervision
- Conduct thorough testing of direct current (DC) Controller Software and verify proper configuration
- Oversee and verify DC Power transition work (cut-over on live equipment)
- Perform detailed inspection of telecom battery installations
- Test and verify circuits on working power distribution sources
- Execute comprehensive equipment testing and system evaluation
- Supervise and inspect volatile work activities inside energized equipment
- Verify proper wiring connections and modifications on working equipment and circuits
- Inspect and test common systems equipment/hardware
- Perform thorough lead verification (voltage) testing
- Analyze job specifications and engineering drawings
- Identify and document any deviations from specifications or engineering drawings
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and required customer forms
- Maintain and update office record drawings based on field observations
- Perform in-process and final quality inspections
- Follow and enforce all Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) guidelines
- Communicate with the Project Manager on all inspection and testing results
- Provide technical guidance and oversight to inspection crew
