Linguistics Data Analyst

Summary

Join Lightcast's linguistics team as a data analyst responsible for fostering and developing multiple languages across various products. You will analyze and improve data quality, build new parsers, translate taxonomies, and create crosswalks using SQL. The ideal candidate is dynamic, multilingual, and proficient in data analysis techniques. This role involves collaboration with linguistics and engineering teams to enhance language support within Lightcast's products. The position requires strong linguistics knowledge and data analysis skills, with a preference for fluency in Danish, Croatian, and Czech.

Requirements

• Competency in three or more languages
• Understanding of syntax and structural analysis of languages
• Microsoft Excel experience (including vlookups, data cleanup, and functions)
• Knowledge of query languages such as SQL
• Knowledge of text analysis or machine learning principles
• Experience with data analysis using tools such as Excel or Python
• Knowledge of RegEx

Responsibilities

• Analyze and improve data quality of multilingual text classifiers
• Work with linguistics and engineering teams to build out new parsers across languages
• Translate various taxonomies such as Skills, Titles, and Occupations
• Create crosswalks from origin language titles and skills to Lightcast taxonomies
• Use SQL for data handling and database management

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, Data Analytics, NLP or similar
• Knowledge of multinational labor markets
• Strong linguistics knowledge
