Summary
Join T-Rex Solutions as a Linux Administrator to support the US Department of the Treasury's TCloud enterprise cloud development. You will manage and maintain Linux systems across various cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, OCI, and GCP). Responsibilities include system administration, cloud management, automation and scripting, monitoring and optimization, security and compliance, and backup and recovery. You will collaborate with security teams and provide Tier 2/3 support. A Bachelor's degree and four years of experience (or a Master's and two years) are required, along with proven experience in managing Linux environments across multiple cloud platforms. The ideal candidate will possess strong scripting and configuration management skills and knowledge of security best practices.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance
- Bachelors degree and four (4) years or more of related experience or Masters and two (2) or more years of related experience
- Proven experience managing Linux environments in multiple cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, OCI, GCP)
- Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems (CentOS, Ubuntu, Red Hat)
- Experience with cloud services and tools from AWS (EC2, S3, VPC), Azure (VMs, Blob Storage, Virtual Network), OCI (Compute, Block Volumes, Networking), and GCP (Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, VPC)
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Bash, Python)
- Familiarity with configuration management tools (Ansible Core/Tower/AAP/Galaxy, Puppet, Chef)
- Familiarity with Red Hat Satellite server including setup of content views to define and manage the lifecycle of content (such as RPM packages, container images, Puppet modules, and Ansible roles)
- Experience with monitoring tools (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, Azure Monitor)
- Knowledge of security best practices and compliance requirements (e.g. HIPAA, SOC 2, ISO 27001)
- Expertise in performing vulnerability remediation and hardening of servers using DISA STIGs
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers (CentOS, Ubuntu, Red Hat, etc.) in both physical and virtual environments
- Perform regular system updates, patch management, and kernel upgrades
- Deploy, configure, and manage Linux-based infrastructure in AWS, Azure, OCI, and GCP
- Utilize cloud-native tools and services for monitoring, scaling, and automating Linux workloads
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using Bash, Python, and other relevant scripting languages
- Utilize configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef) to automate provisioning and configuration of Linux systems
- Implement and manage monitoring solutions to ensure high availability and performance of Linux systems
- Perform performance tuning and optimization of Linux servers and applications
- Ensure systems comply with organizational and industry security standards
- Conduct regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and implement remediation strategies
- Perform vulnerability remediation and hardening of servers using DISA STIGs (Security Technical Implementation Guides)
- Implement and manage backup and recovery solutions for Linux environments
- Perform regular testing of backup and disaster recovery processes
- Work closely with security teams to support application deployment and troubleshooting
- Provide Tier 2/3 support for Linux-related incidents and service requests
- Participate in on-call rotation
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications in relevant cloud platforms (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Architect Associate, Google Professional Cloud Architect)
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Experience with IaC (Infrastructure As Code, Terraform)
