Summary

An EIR at Menlo Ventures is seeking a 0 to 1 engineering partner to build the core AI engine behind a new nutrition tracking platform. The company aims to revolutionize the space by focusing on discovery and using wearable health data. The engineering partner will have full ownership over the entire AI pipeline, fine-tune large language models, build retrieval infrastructure, and implement MLOps best practices.

Requirements

• Profound understanding of AI/ML technologies
• Experience with retrieval infrastructure
• Familiarity with big data pipelines for feature engineering
• Strong programming skills and experience in developing AI/ML prototypes
• Knowledgeable in MLOps principles and vector database management
• Experience shipping products to production, AI or otherwise
• Loves the 0 to 1 phase and being challenged

Responsibilities

• Full ownership over the entire AI pipeline
• Work with real-world data to create scalable feedback loops
• Fine-tune large language models for specific application needs
• Build groundwork infrastructure for retrieval
• Utilize OpenAI and other open-source tools to develop AI-driven prototypes
• Implement MLOps best practices, including deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of ML models in production environments
