Machine Learning Intern

Summary

Join MyFitnessPal's Machine Learning team as a Summer 2025 intern for a 10-week program. You will implement recent advances in deep learning and image recognition, train models, and evaluate model performance. This internship requires familiarity with recommendation systems, LLMs, and experience with large-scale multimodal models. Proficiency in Python and PyTorch is essential. The internship is paid, with a potential for full-time conversion upon graduation, offering various full-time employee benefits. The role is remote, with the option to work from various states within the continental U.S.

Requirements

• Be a current, full-time college student with at least one academic term remaining following an internship at MyFitnessPal
• Undergraduate students graduating between December 2025 and June 2026 (rising Juniors or Seniors)
• Students completing their master’s degree between December 2025 and June 2026
• Current PhD Students
• Familiarity with common recommendation systems and Large Language Models (LLMs)
• Experience with large scale multimodal models (ex: Vision-Language Models)
• Proficiency in Python
• Hands-on experience with PyTorch

Responsibilities

• Implement Recent Advances in Deep Learning and Image Recognition, including new optimizers, architectures and training objectives
• Train Image Recognition and Vision-Language Models
• Evaluate Models and Curate Datasets to identify and mitigate issues in current models

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of distributed training frameworks (ex: PyTorch Distributed, DeepSpeed, Ray Train)
• Familiarity with AWS and Kubernetes
• Previous research experience
• On Device inference (ex: CoreML)
