Summary

The job description is for a Software Engineering Manager position at MyFitnessPal. The Engineering Manager will be responsible for ensuring the team's work is effectively transitioned through delivery, maintaining high-quality codebases, facilitating agile ceremonies, promoting team growth, and embodying the company’s core values.

Requirements

• Have experience leading an engineering team in the Product Team model as an Engineering Manager or Technical Lead
• Are experienced leading teams using Agile principles and Scrum methodologies
• Enjoy working with Product and Engineering teams to plan, execute, and deliver projects
• Have knowledge of common patterns and software engineering and best practices
• Have experience working with high traffic, scalable mobile applications
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar field, or equivalent real-world experience

Responsibilities

• Ensure engineers are working closely with Product and Design in discovery and the work is effectively transitioned through delivery, keeping an eye on the quality and maintainability of codebases
• Take a hands-on approach to delivery management, ensuring the backlog is healthy, maintenance and tech debt work are scheduled, and work is broken down appropriately, in a timely manner
• Run agile sprint ceremonies and coach others to do the same
• Ensure the engineering team is maintaining a high-quality product that supports rapid prototyping and testing
• Promote the growth of teammates through mentorship and coaching
