Summary

Join us at Thumbtack, a virtual-first company building the only app homeowners need to effortlessly manage their homes. We're seeking a Manager, Data Science to lead our data science team and empower Thumbtack to use data to guide business decisions.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in analytics, data science or economics
  • 2+ years of experience managing analysts or data scientists
  • Experience analyzing customer lifetime value, identifying profitable customer segments, and prioritizing product/marketing opportunities to serve customers
  • Experience managing stakeholders with competing priorities in areas such as Product Management, Design, Engineering and Marketing
  • Experience scoping, analyzing, and communicating results of experiments
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build strong relationships cross-functionally and with senior leadership
  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, Doctoral degree in one of the following areas; Statistics, Engineering, Analytics, Math, Computer Science, Operations Research

Responsibilities

  • Influence Thumbtack’s vision and execution in running an effective marketplace
  • Partner with leaders from product management, engineering, design, marketing and go-to-market teams to execute on our product visio
  • Manage, mentor and grow data scientists
  • Set up a data science roadmap, identify key questions that will unblock product development and liaise with technical stakeholders on data and experimentation infrastructure
  • Coordinate with data science leaders in adjacent product teams to run a well-managed, productive and motivated Thumbtack data science team
