Manager, Software Engineering

Summary

Join Samsara's Platform Reports team as an Engineering Manager and lead the development of a highly scalable reporting framework. You will oversee the creation of impactful features for customers, standardize data analytics processes, and enhance user interfaces. This role involves growing and developing your team, defining roadmaps, and collaborating with engineers. The position requires experience managing high-performing teams and building scalable SaaS applications. Requirements

• Demonstrated success in managing high-performing teams
• Experience building scalable, mission-critical SaaS applications
• Experience operating, maintaining, and improving upon large scale application services
• Strong interpersonal communication skills (including listening, speaking, and writing) and ability to work well in a diverse, team-focused environment
• Strong track record of delivering products and features that customers love
• Proven record of attracting top-talent and coaching the team
• 8+ years of relevant software engineering work experience
• 3+ years of hands-on technical management experience

Responsibilities

• Develop and promote a high-productivity environment that enables engineers to excel and deliver their best work
• Create and drive the execution of a strategic roadmap for Samsara’s Platform, partnering with senior management and cross-functional teams
• Steer our technical strategy by working closely with senior engineers
• Hire and develop exceptional engineering talent
• Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we expand and scale our mobile presence (more apps across more geographies)
• Hire, develop and lead an inclusive, engaged, and high performing team

Preferred Qualifications

• B.S. in Computer Science or related technical discipline
• Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing data pipelines
• Proven experience in developing and enhancing core platform components
