Summary
Join Samsara's Routing team as an Engineering Manager and lead a team in developing cutting-edge products for fleet management. You will define project plans, collaborate on next-generation technology, and create features impacting customers. This remote US-based role requires 8+ years of software engineering experience and 3+ years of technical management experience. You'll build scalable SaaS applications, maintain large-scale services, and champion Samsara's cultural principles. Requirements
- 8+ years of relevant software engineering work experience
- 3+ years of hands-on technical management experience
- Experience building scalable, mission-critical SaaS applications
- Experience operating, maintaining, and improving upon large-scale application services
- Strong interpersonal communication skills (including listening, speaking, and writing) and ability to work well in a diverse, team-focused environment
- Strong track record of delivering products and features that customers love
- Proven record of attracting top-talent and coaching the team
Responsibilities
- Lead and Develop Teams: Hire and mentor a team of engineers, fostering their professional growth and building a high-performing team
- Drive Innovation: Define project plans and roadmaps, and collaborate with your team to develop next-generation technology across our platform
- Create Impactful Work: Develop features that have a tangible impact on our active and future customers, enhancing their experience with our products
- Keep the bar high: Define the standards of operational excellence for your services and features, and ensure your team consistently meets these high standards
- Establish Culture: Play a crucial role in establishing our company culture, focusing on our leadership values and operating principles
- Participate with senior leadership and cross-functional peers to develop a long-term roadmap and strategy for Samsaraβs Routing team
- Collaborate with senior engineers to drive technical strategy
- Set quarterly goals and balance product/engineering priorities for maximum impact
- Drive planning and execution on the roadmap, delivering features and enhancements to delight customers
- Set a high standard for the reliability of your components
- Champion, role model, and embed Samsaraβs cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices
- Hire, develop and lead an inclusive, engaged, and high performing team
Preferred Qualifications
- B.S. in Computer Science or related technical discipline
- Proven track record for innovation and delivering value to customers (both internal and external)
- Demonstrated ability to build cross-functional consensus and drive cross-team collaboration
