Summary
Join Stripe's Technology Risk and Controls team as a leader, overseeing the development of solutions for infrastructure platforms used by engineering, security, and business partners. You will work with other Stripe leaders to design and lead the development of processes and controls that fulfill Stripe's compliance obligations, iterate on risk management processes, and empower the engineering team to achieve high technical compliance. Responsibilities include recruiting program managers and compliance experts, growing and caring for your team, helping program managers advance, and contributing to engineering-wide initiatives. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of people management experience and 8+ years in technology risk and compliance management, along with expertise in industry security and reliability frameworks. The role requires collaboration with regulatory compliance partners and the ability to thrive in a high-autonomy environment.
Requirements
- 5+ years of people management experience
- 8+ years of experience in technology risk and compliance management
- Hands-on experience building risk and compliance programs for internal or external customers
- Expertise in at least 2 major industry security and reliability frameworks such as SOC, SOX, PCI, DORA, ISO-27001 or other comparable standards
- Experience collaborating with regulatory compliance partners globally
- Successfully recruited great team members
- The ability to thrive on a high level of autonomy and responsibility
- Clear and persuasive writing and in-person communication
Responsibilities
- Work with other Stripe leaders to design and lead the development of processes and controls that best fulfill Stripe’s compliance obligations
- Iterate on the risk management processes to bring in best industry practices
- Empower the engineering team to achieve a high level of technical compliance, reliability, and efficiency
- Recruit great program managers and compliance experts, in collaboration with Stripe’s recruiting team
- Grow and care for your team, and ensure it’s integrated well into Stripe in accordance with Stripe’s operating principles
- Help program managers advance in their careers and develop new skills
- Contribute to engineering-wide and program management initiatives as a member of Stripe’s engineering and program management team
Preferred Qualifications
- Empathetic to customer needs, but visionary enough to not just deliver a faster horse
- Comfortable planning in quarters, and can set a vision for several years
- Excited about collaborating with teammates across Stripe’s organization, to provide a wonderful user experience for key compliance workflows
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of people, genuinely caring for each other and contributing to high level of psychological safety for all team members and partners
- Comfortable working with geographically distributed teams
