Summary

The job description is for a Web Engineering Leader role at SearchStax, a profitable cloud-native search platform company. The ideal candidate should have 13+ years of experience as a Web Development Manager or similar role, a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, strong experience with WordPress, front-end technologies, back-end languages, software development methodologies, project management tools, web hosting environments, and more.

Requirements

• 13+ years of experience as a Web Development Manager or similar leadership role in managing technical teams
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• Strong experience with WordPress, including custom themes and plugin development
• Proficiency in front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc.) and back-end languages (PHP, MySQL)
• Demonstrated understanding of software development methodologies and project management tools
• Experience in configuring, optimizing, and maintaining web hosting environments
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think strategically
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively liaise with multiple teams

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage our web development team
• Own and oversee all projects related to searchstax.com
• Work closely with our Marketing and Product teams to gather and interpret website requirements and ensure that these are accurately implemented
• Establish and maintain SDLC processes including planning, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance
• Ensure the website's scalability, performance, and security
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and recommend advancements in technologies to enhance website functionality and user experience
• Manage timelines, budgets, and documentation related to web development projects
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to the development team
• Prepare reports and analytics to senior management demonstrating website performance and project progress

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with e-commerce integration, SEO best practices, and accessibility compliance
• Certifications in Project Management (e.g., PMP) or Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum Master)
• Experience with performance optimization of high-traffic websites
