Summary

Join Kin + Carta as a Manual Quality Assurance Engineer and contribute to testing approach, writing and executing test cases. As a hands-on technology expert, you will be responsible for the quality and function of experiences across various projects. You will perform manual testing against various back-end technologies, frameworks, and services. Partner with other QAs, developers, architects, creative technologists, experience designers, visual designers, business consultants, experience strategists, client executives to provide connected thinking for our clients.

Requirements

• Experience as a contributor in the QA or Engineering functions of 1 or more complex platform implementation projects
• Understanding of modern web browsers and the nuances between their feature adoption
• Experience using DevTools in multiple browsers
• Understanding how to test modern reactive and dynamic user interfaces
• Has significant experience with testing across various platforms and form factors as well as cross-browser testing
• Experience using queries in SQL databases to retrieve and verify data
• Candidates should be flexible / willing to work across this delivery landscape which includes and not limited to Agile Applications Development

Responsibilities

• Be a hands-on technology expert, able to contribute to testing approach, writing and executing test cases
• Responsible for the quality and function of experiences across a variety of projects including websites, mobile apps, data dashboards and chat experiences
• Perform manual testing against various back-end technologies, frameworks and services
• Partner with other QAs, developers, architects, creative technologists, experience designers, visual designers, business consultants,  experience strategists, client executives to provide connected thinking for our clients

Preferred Qualifications

• Work independently and as a member of a team
• Experience working with code-based browser testing frameworks
• Experience with JIRA, TestRail or similar for test case management
• Experience using AI automation for UI testing
• Experience writing test scenarios in a BDD tool with gherkin syntax to document tests 
• Experience working with API testing tools such as Postman
• Experience using API mocking or Proxy tools such as Charles Proxy
• Experience using native or cloud based device farms
• Work and communicate effectively with programmers and other IT staff and non-IT functional areas
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Excellent organizational skills
• Being proactive and willingness to learn, develop and adapt
