Summary
Join Dandy, a company transforming the dental industry with technology, as a hands-on Manufacturing Design Engineer. You will manage and guide development activities of highly skilled teams, developing processes for building exceptional products. This role requires collaboration with engineering, executive leadership, and international supply chain teams to strategize and launch products. You will create schedules, facilitate communication, drive supplier integration, and utilize data to make process decisions. The ideal candidate possesses a blend of business and technical knowledge, strong leadership capabilities, and the ability to manage competing priorities.
Requirements
- B.S/M.S in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Metallurgy; or equivalent experience and evidence of exceptional ability
- 4+ years of program management experience with accomplishments in concept to market product and process development
- Ability to lead concept, design and proof of concept work with minimal supervision and guidance
- Experienced working with multidisciplinary groups, driving schedule and tasks
- Experience bringing new products to market using design controls: Proto, EVT, DVT & PVT
Responsibilities
- Manage innovation within the manufacturing design team by challenging the technical team to implement new processes while maintaining timely readiness for mass production
- Build consensus by engaging with a talented engineering team, the executive leadership team, and an international supply chain
- Work with go-to-market teams to strategize and launch these products
- Create process development schedules indicating critical path and key decision milestones
- Facilitate communication and cross functional alignment within the Manufacturing Design organization and with other Dandy teams
- Drive suppliers, integrate their deliverables and schedules into the overall project
- Utilize a multi-functional team of engineers to meet overall program objectives
- Drive issue resolution and risk management in order to meet timeline
- Work with Advance Manufacturing team to define and establish supply chain requirements utilizing selected equipment and manufacturing suppliers
- Use data to drive process decisions, basic data analysis, DOEs, SPC, etc. Identify, research, develop, and qualify premier equipment manufacturers and suppliers
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with dental products (preferred)
- Strong professional references showcasing successful past projects
- Relentlessly positive attitude and the ability to have fun at work
- Strong CAD/Solidworks, drafting practices, GD&T, and tolerance analysis experience
- Strong materials background
