Requirements

  • Have a BS in a technical discipline (ME, EE, other engineering/CAD)
  • Have 4-6 years of experience with projects in the distribution and fulfillment space
  • Have a solid knowledge of drafting & design standards
  • Be proficient in AutoCAD & and have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Be flexible and able to transition between several projects
  • Possess excellent written communication skills
  • Understand that the details make the big picture work, and like working in the details
  • Be more excited about the success of your team than your own personal success

Responsibilities

  • Review and apply customer specifications to design
  • Review architectural and other drawings against conveyance design to check for interferences and ensure clearance requirements are met
  • Participate in firm engineering meetings with the customers and suppliers; may lead technical discussion during these meetings
  • Produce detailed mechanical installation drawings
  • Create detailed Bills of Material for purchasing equipment
  • Create point load drawings when required
  • Verify calculations, such as horsepower and throughput
  • Work with vendors to review equipment drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with customer requirements
  • Produce and/or compile installation details, including supplier installation drawings and manuals, for the field
  • Travel to job sites to verify field conditions
  • Report drawing status to the Project Engineer as required maintaining the project schedule
  • Create and maintain CAD files
  • Review and create as-built drawings
  • May occasionally design parts or platforms required for material handling system
  • Provide other required engineering tasks as necessary
