Summary

Join Artera, an AI medical startup, as a Medical Director reporting to the Chief Medical Officer. You will be a key member of the Clinical Development team, contributing to the strategy and execution of evidence generation for AI-based cancer therapy personalization. Responsibilities include serving as a clinical voice across the company, writing research proposals and manuscripts, developing biomarker clinical indications, and building collaborative relationships. The role requires an MD or similar degree, clinical research experience, and board certification in radiation oncology or medical oncology. Travel is expected (up to 25%). Requirements

  • MD or similar clinical degree
  • Experience in clinical care and/or clinical research, including authorship in peer-reviewed biomedicine or clinical publications
  • Board certification in radiation oncology or medical oncology
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Analytical thinker with problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a clinical voice for R&D projects, key collaborators and strategic partnerships, health systems, and external communications
  • Represent Artera’s clinical science to payors, regulators, scientific societies, and physicians
  • Travel as needed (up to 25% of time) for conferences and scientific interactions with potential customers
  • Write research proposals and manuscripts in collaboration with members of the Clinical Development and AI teams
  • Develop biomarker clinical indications, product needs, data pipeline plans, and publication strategies for new and emerging biomarkers indications in various phases of development
  • Contribute to the building of department infrastructure, including educational and scientific resources
  • Build collaborative relationships with external data partners, as well as with key internal stakeholders including AI, Product Development, Managed Care, Market Access and Sales
  • Work with artificial intelligence and clinical research teams to execute on evidence generation and publication plans; support the preparation of manuscripts to provide clarity on clinical impact
  • Support expansion of disease-based indications or new yet-to-be determined disease indications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in oncology and biomarker-based trials
  • Experience in team science across multi-disciplinary collaborations
  • Experience in multi-institutional collaborations
  • Experience leading extramural grant funding projects and teams
