Summary

Requirements

  • Possess an advanced scientific degree (MS, PhD, PharmD, or MD preferred) and excellent writing skills
  • Have prior experience, preferably for a pharmaceutical and/or medical communications company
  • Be able to produce high-quality medical writing based on materials and direction supplied by a medical director
  • Have the aptitude for communicating complex scientific ideas in a clear, concise, accurate, and innovative way
  • Be able to independently interpret scientific statistics and source materials including primary data sources, as well as published medical literature
  • Possess the willingness and ability to work both independently and in a team structure
  • Be able to manage multiple priorities and estimate time needed to write standard projects
  • Be able to perform all duties remotely and online, as OPEN Health is a paperless company
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm, a team-player attitude, self-motivation, and a professional demeanor
  • Be proficient with PubMed searches and MS365 programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams), including figure and table development

Responsibilities

  • Provide research and writing support to assigned teams and new business efforts
  • Work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team that includes a medical director, editor, graphic designers, and account personnel to accomplish project goals
  • Develop high-quality written materials that are scientifically accurate, fully referenced, appropriate to the target audience, and that meet communication objectives, client specifications, and industry guidelines
  • Produce promotional medical education and commercial materials for initiatives such as national broadcasts, webinars, product theaters, speaker bureau, advisory boards, and strategic communications
  • Consult with creative, medical, and varying internal teams to conceptualize and develop images, diagrams, animations, or interactive assets for assigned projects and/or new business pitches
  • Incorporate feedback and revisions and address reviewer questions/comments
  • Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge in relevant therapy areas
  • Contribute strategic recommendations and suggestions for continuous quality improvement on assigned teams
  • Understand team/company expectations in terms of budgeted hours and deadlines, and communicate with team regarding these as needed
  • Attend meetings as required, including internal kick-off meetings, status meetings, and client calls
