Summary

Requirements
- The ability to operate independently and own highly complex problems from inception to delivery
- The ability to partner effectively with cross-functional partners e.g. product, design, technical writing
- A bias to action, strong ownership, and ability to break down complex product goals into smaller iterative milestones for frequent delivery
- The inclination to lead, weigh trade-offs, mitigate risks, make decisions, and unblock others
- Expertise in building and operating highly available systems at scale and with high standards for code quality and design
- Excellent skills in a system-level language such as Go, C++, Java, C#, or Rust. Knowing a specific language isnβt important; what matters is that youβve become fluent in one by spending a lot of time on the types of projects where these languages are used
- The willingness to coach and mentor other engineers
- A collaborative working style
Responsibilities
- Contribute to product direction and engineering goals for the team
- Partner and plan work with sister teams to meet our shared goals
- Shape our architecture for the short term and long term to meet our product and reliability requirements
- Design, implement, and operate high-volume services in Go on top of Kubernetes/GCP/AWS/Clickhouse
- Refine the way we build and release software by contributing to building systems, test frameworks, deployment tools, and monitoring
- Contribute to our team rituals and processes
