Summary

Join our TalkNow team as a Seasonal Mental Health Provider! This remote, full-time position offers a 9-month seasonal schedule (Jan 15 - May 31 & Aug 1 - Dec 15). You'll provide 24/7 on-demand telehealth mental health support to college students and staff. Responsibilities include crisis intervention, care plan development, and documentation. Requirements

  • Completion of a Master's Degree (M.A./M.S.) in Psychology, Professional Counseling, Social Work, or Marriage & Family Therapy is required
  • Strong clinical writing, assessment, and active listening skills
  • Experience with crisis intervention and de-escalation
  • Experience providing therapeutic services to young adults, adolescents, at risk populations, or have worked in a community mental health, crisis support, or college counseling environment
  • Fully Licensed Mental Health Practitioner with North Carolina state license

Responsibilities

  • Act as a primary support & triage for incoming TalkNow sessions (via phone, video or chat) to support members (i.e. students, faculty, or staff) with a person-centered, strengths-based approach
  • Provide crisis intervention, de-escalation, and triage support as needed for students using TalkNow services, providing full availability during the hours of your shift
  • Collaborate with students to develop care plans, progress care, and conduct risk assessments as needed
  • Appropriately document sessions, assessments, and care plans in our electronic health record (EHR)
  • Adhere to established standards for AIDET communication (acknowledge, introduce, duration, explanation, and thank), clinical documentation quality, HIPAA/PHI and telehealth regulation
  • Consistently meet the required performance metrics for number of required encounters per week and shift
  • Participate in the quality assurance investigations to gather all applicable facts

Preferred Qualifications

  • Able to adapt to the needs of the members we serve
  • Able to establish rapport, trust and professional boundaries with students
  • Able to assess, triage, and document sessions with students potentially in crisis and/or are experiencing thoughts of self-harm or suicidal ideation, etc
  • Able to respond to students who are potentially in crisis with professionalism, support, empathy, and an awareness of cultural humility
