Mid-Level Back-End Software Engineer

Summary

Join our client, a UK-based post-purchase logistics company, as a Mid-Level Back-End Software Engineer and play a key role in supporting our growth initiatives. You will integrate with retailers, carriers, and third-party systems, manage databases, utilize AWS services, and collaborate with a diverse team. This role requires back-end development experience with Node.js, Express.js, and TypeScript, along with strong problem-solving and communication skills. The position offers a full-time contract with 30 days of paid time off annually and provision of work equipment. Experience with AWS and AI/neural networks is advantageous. The company is expanding into AI, offering opportunities to apply mathematical and neural network expertise.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
• 2+ years of proven experience in back-end development
• 1+ years of extensive experience with Node.js and Express.js
• Proficiency in TypeScript
• Strong knowledge of MongoDB
• Familiarity with integrating third-party systems and APIs
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
• Ability to work in a diverse, distributed team environment

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain back-end services using TypeScript, Node.js, and Express.js
• Integrate with various external systems, including retailers, carriers, and third-party utilities
• Manage and optimize databases using MongoDB
• Utilize AWS services such as S3, SNS, SQS, and Lambda to support various functionalities
• Collaborate with front-end developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment processes
• Contribute to the company’s expansion into artificial intelligence, applying mathematical and neural network expertise

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AWS services (S3, SNS, SQS, Lambda)
• Experience in logistics or e-commerce domains
• Background in artificial intelligence or neural networks
• Advanced degrees or relevant certifications
