Summary
Join our team as a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to lead the development of a next-generation platform for educational district Superintendents. You will design, develop, and deploy core features, architect scalable components, integrate AI-driven features using OpenAI models, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. This hands-on role requires strong technical leadership, mentoring skills, and a passion for improving education. You will make key technical decisions, drive architectural and tooling choices, and ensure code quality. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of full-stack experience with React and Python, along with expertise in REST APIs, authentication flows, and modern state management.
Requirements
- 5+ years of full-stack experience (React + Python)
- Strong knowledge of REST APIs, authentication flows (OAuth2/JWT), and modern state management (Redux, etc.)
- Experience with OpenAI APIs or other LLM integration (prompt engineering, embedding, etc.)
- Solid understanding of SQL and ORM tools
- Demonstrated experience in technical leadership or mentoring
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Passion for improving education and societal impact
Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end design, development, and deployment of features
- Architect scalable front-end and back-end components
- Integrate AI-driven features using OpenAI models
- Collaborate with product, AI, and design teams to align technical vision with educational impact
- Review code, enforce best practices, and mentor a mid-level engineer
- Drive architectural and tooling decisions, including performance and security
- Ensure code quality through testing, CI/CD, and documentation
- Contribute to shaping the product roadmap from a technical perspective
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with LMS systems and educational platforms is a strong plus
- Experience with LMSs
- Experience with FastAPI
- Background in analytics, dashboards, or reporting tools
- Understanding of FERPA, COPPA, or other educational data regulations
- Prior experience working on tools for district-level education stakeholders
