Mid-Level Software Engineer

Summary

Join MO, a company dedicated to improving government services through human-centered design, as a Software Engineer supporting the VA. You will collaborate with a cross-functional team to understand customer needs, strategize service improvements, and design innovative solutions for the VA's Health and Benefits mobile app. This role involves driving the product lifecycle from concept to execution and bridging gaps between customers and teams. Approximately 10% travel is anticipated. The position offers competitive compensation, full health benefits, 401k matching, unlimited PTO, and various other perks. The salary range is $110,000-$137,000 annually, with placement based on experience.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in an agile software development environment, with proficiency in React-Native
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain scalable design system, with a strong understanding of accessibility, UI/UX best practices, and design patterns
• Ability to help prioritize, define, and architect work to ensure high quality while meeting our deadline goals
• Experience working with product and design teams to understand customer requirements and use cases that inform the solution design
• Comfort working in an agile, iterative, sprint based environment
• Experience with accessibility, privacy, security, access management, and writing software that handles PII
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and partners to define, design, and ship new systems and features
• Participate in technical roadmap and architecture planning
• Work with other engineers and set standards for clean, maintainable, and efficient code
• Work with designers to review solutions for technical feasibility and accessibility
• Participate in design and code reviews to ensure the quality of the codebase
• Troubleshoot and debug complex software issues
