Node.js Backend Engineer

Summary

RYZ Labs is seeking a Backend Engineer based in Latam to join their team and help scale their knowledge graph infrastructure and manage time series data. The ideal candidate has experience building scalable distributed systems and using modern web technologies like TypeScript, Node/Express, MySQL. Preferred qualifications include experience in an early-stage startup and working with Python/strongly typed languages.

Requirements

• Track record of building highly performant, highly observable, and highly scalable systems
• 5+ years of experience building scalable distributed systems
• 5+ years of backend engineering experience using modern web technologies (TypeScript, Node/Express, MySQL)
• Solid architectural vision: You have strong intuition around long-term system design and continuous improvements to performance and scaling
• Experience with streaming technologies (Pub/Sub, Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc)
• Experience with various data storage solutions (SQL, NoSQL / key-value stores) preferably snowflake

Responsibilities

• Scale our knowledge graph infrastructure to handle hundreds of millions of company related data
• Understand how our insight layer is connected to the rest of our application layer and ensure performance, observability, and customer demand
• Evaluate how we store time series data and help scale it 10x the current throughput in an iterative manner
• Leverage ML infrastructure and services to continually improve our taxonomy and derive relevant signals from the underlying data

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in an early-stage startup
• Proven track record migrating systems in a changing environment that allows for little to no downtime to meet increasing demand
• Experience in working in Python/strongly typed languages
