Job description

Job Description:

Omitron is looking for a talented Orbital Analyst Engineering Intern to join our team. We are a company rooted in ensuring mission success across flight operations, trajectory design and analysis, software tools for Space Domain Awareness, and ensuring on-orbit Spaceflight Safety.  This internship position is fully remote with hybrid opportunities.  This internship will allow new graduates a chance to enter the fast-growing industry of applied space domain engineering.  Our analysts have extensive experience and access to space domain data, making this a unique opportunity to start a career in the space industry.

The engineering intern will develop the knowledge and expertise to solve various operational orbital mechanics problems and to process data for orbit states and predictions. A successful intern will learn and understand processes to coordinate and integrate relevant information and findings across multiple functional areas to develop and deliver space analysis products enabling customer situational awareness and decisions. Potential for broadening into other areas related to conjunction assessment, proximity operations and various technical tasks related to orbit analysis. This position has the potential to transition to a full-time in-person Junior Orbital Analyst position upon demonstrated knowledge and skill growth and positive security clearance adjudication. Applicant should hold a Master’s degree in a relevant field or be on track to graduate from a commensurate program within 12 months of interview.

Internship will consist of 4-6 hours per week of remote instruction.  Interns will be submitted for a DoD security clearance and, once obtained, may transition to a hybrid on-site model to gain hands-on experience.

US citizenship required /EEO/AA/E-Verify Participation
