Summary

Join our team as a motivated and detail-oriented OSP Engineer I. This entry-level position is perfect for those with foundational experience or education in AutoCAD, GIS, or similar tools and a strong interest in outside plant engineering. You will support the design and development of fiber optic network infrastructure, assisting with network planning and design, conducting field surveys, and collaborating with internal and external teams. Troubleshooting network issues and maintaining accurate documentation are also key responsibilities. This role offers a great opportunity for growth in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Requirements

  • Proven knowledge of FTTH, FTTP architecture, components, best practices and design of fiber optic network systems
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in designing and implementing fiber optic networks
  • Proven knowledge of Comsof, IQGeo, AutoDesign, ARMIS, ArcGIS, QGIS, AutoCAD, and other engineering-related software
  • Knowledge of industry NESC, NEC standards, and regulations related to fiber optic networks

Responsibilities

  • Plan and design fiber optic networks, including the selection of appropriate cable types, sizes, and routing
  • Develop and optimize OSP network layouts for fiber optic cabling systems
  • Conduct site surveys to determine the best locations for cable placement and equipment
  • Identify potential conflicts with existing utilities and report any roadblocks to the design team
  • Research and verify addresses for network planning
  • Identify design violations and propose alternative routing solutions
  • Track project progress and ensure timely task completion
  • Work closely with the permitting team to ensure designs meet all permitting requirements
  • Communicate effectively with teams to support seamless project execution
