Partner with sales executives to identify customer needs and articulate pain points through demonstrations and consultations. Lead the technical sales cycle, define success criteria, and execute pilots and cyber range evaluations. Design and scope high-fidelity cyber range exercises that simulate industrial protocols and threat vectors. Align customer environments with SimSpace professional services to co-develop red/blue team events and training. Serve as a liaison between OT engineers and SimSpace's product/engineering teams. Maintain awareness of industry security standards and compliance frameworks. Contribute to RFI/RFP responses and support contract renewals. This role requires a proven ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders and a passion for solving meaningful problems.
Requirements
- Be an experienced technical leader who thrives at the intersection of strategy and operational realism — capable of bridging the gap between the customer’s business & customer requirements, SimSpace’s advanced simulation platform, and the real-world architectures and constraints of OT systems
- You have seen the inside of plants, substations, control rooms, or command centers
- You understand the risk—and the opportunity—of modernizing industrial cybersecurity postures through simulated training, testing, and decision support
- Minimum 5 years in cybersecurity pre-sales or consulting roles, ideally supporting multiple OT-heavy sectors such as energy, water, oil & gas, transportation, or manufacturing
- Hands-on experience working with or supporting ICS/SCADA systems, including deep knowledge of control protocols like Modbus, DNP3, OPC UA, Ethernet/IP, EtherCAT, FANUC, and industrial networking principles
- Familiarity with cybersecurity tools and practices in OT environments, such as passive detection, segmentation, asset discovery, and compliance frameworks (e.g., NERC CIP, IEC 62443, NIST 800-82)
- Practical knowledge of Purdue model segmentation, and working with or securing OT historians and data flows in industrial environments
- Familiarity with one or more major OT/ICS vendors such as ABB, Beckhoff, Bosch, Comau, Dragos, Eaton, Emerson, FANUC, Hitachi, Honeywell, Mitsubishi, Nozomi, Schneider Electric, TKY, Toshiba, etc
- Proven ability to define measurable success criteria and lead technical evaluations or Proof-of-Value (POVs), with an emphasis on outcome-based selling
- Ability to clearly communicate with both plant-level engineers and executive leadership, and adjust messaging to resonate with stakeholders across the technical and business spectrum
- Self-driven and team-oriented, with a passion for solving meaningful problems and protecting the most critical infrastructure in the world
Responsibilities
- Partner with SimSpace sales executives to identify cross-sector OT customer needs and articulate pain points through tailored technology demonstrations and technical consultation
- Leverage technical familiarity with OT-specific equipment, to include programmable logic controllers (PLCs), human machine interfaces (HMIs) remote terminal units (RTUs), etc
- Lead the technical sales cycle with OT/ICS stakeholders — define success criteria, plan and execute pilots, and run cyber range evaluations that emulate real-world industrial threat scenarios
- Design and scope high-fidelity cyber range exercises that simulate industrial protocols, ICS architectures (e.g., Purdue model segmentation, Cyber Physical Systems), and OT threat vectors
- Align complex OT customer environments and risk models with SimSpace professional services to co-develop red/blue team events, operator assessments, and readiness training
- Serve as a liaison between OT engineers and SimSpace’s product/engineering teams to ensure feedback loops are integrated and roadmap items remain aligned with industry needs
- Maintain awareness of industry-specific security standards and compliance frameworks (e.g., NERC CIP, IEC 62443, NIST 800-82) to contextualize SimSpace’s capabilities during engagements
- Contribute to OT-centric RFI/RFP responses, building compelling narratives around cyber risk reduction and cyber-physical incident simulation
- Support contract renewals and expansion discussions by collaborating with Customer Success and maintaining long-term relationships with key ICS/SCADA security decision-makers
