Join TrueAccord's Legal & Compliance team as a Paralegal II and become a strategic partner to the business. Manage a caseload of litigation and demand letters, conducting investigations and root-cause analysis. Investigate and respond to regulatory complaints, working with cross-functional teams. Assist in compliance functions, including policies, procedures, issue management, and compliance testing. Review and manage MNDAs and conduct due diligence on new clients. Proactively identify areas for improvement to enhance the efficiency and scalability of legal and compliance functions. This role requires a tech-savvy, agile professional with strong analytical and communication skills and 3+ years of relevant experience. Strong proficiency in collaborative tools, specifically in Mac systems, Google Suite, Slack, and JIRA, is a baseline requirement for success on our team

- Relevant Experience: 3+ years of combined experience in a corporate in-house legal department, preferably in a fintech, a debt collection agency, or another financial institution
Responsibilities
- Litigation management: You will be managing a caseload of incoming litigation and demand letters, conducting investigations and root-cause analysis, communicating and negotiating with opposing counsel, coordinating litigation defense with outside counsel, and you will be a key player in supporting legal strategies
- Regulatory complaints: Investigate and respond to inbound complaints from regulators, working with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate resolution
- Compliance: You will assist in compliance functions of the organization, including assisting with policies and procedures, issue management, and compliance testing and monitoring
- Contracts: You will review and manage MNDAs and conduct due diligence on new clients, as well as assist the in-house attorneys with master services agreements
- Operational excellence: A key part of your role will be to take ownership and proactively identify areas for improvement, contributing directly to the success and scalability of our legal and compliance functions
Preferred Qualifications
- A paralegal certificate
- A current Notary Public Commission (or the willingness to obtain one)
