Summary

Join 20four7VA as a Payroll Clerk and manage and process payroll for our employees. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in the landscaping or construction industry and a solid understanding of payroll practices and compliance. You will ensure accurate and timely payroll, maintain payroll records, and handle employee payroll inquiries. Key responsibilities include processing weekly/bi-weekly payroll, tracking hours worked, ensuring compliance with payroll laws, maintaining employee records, managing deductions, collaborating with HR and accounting, generating reports, and handling discrepancies. The position requires 5+ years of payroll processing experience, proficiency with payroll software, a strong understanding of payroll regulations, excellent attention to detail, and strong communication skills. A high school diploma is required, with an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of payroll processing experience, preferably in the landscaping or construction industry
  • Proficiency with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, QuickBooks Payroll, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax laws, and labor compliance
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity
  • Strong communication skills and ability to resolve payroll issues promptly
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or related field preferred

Responsibilities

  • Process weekly/bi-weekly payroll for field and office staff
  • Track and verify hours worked, overtime, PTO, and other compensations
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws
  • Maintain accurate employee payroll records and documentation
  • Manage deductions, garnishments, and benefit withholdings
  • Collaborate with HR and accounting to ensure accuracy of payroll-related data
  • Generate payroll reports for management and auditors as required
  • Handle payroll discrepancies and respond to employee payroll questions
