Summary

Requirements
- 4+ years of experience working with PHP (experience with Vanilla PHP, PHP7 & PHP8)
- Strong OOP principles and MVC architecture knowledge
- Proficient with MySQL (database design, complex queries, performance tuning)
- Experience working with Git and CI/CD tools
- Solid understanding of PHP best practices, unit testing (PHPUnit), and secure coding standards
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes in a production environment
- Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation to support critical systems
Responsibilities
- Design and implement new features while improving the existing codebase using best PHP practices
- Work in an agile environment (Kanban/Scrum, XP, CI/CD, TDD)
- Collaborate closely with the product team to translate requirements into scalable, high-performance solutions
- Ensure fast and stable software delivery in a DevOps environment
- Troubleshoot and optimize the core product software to enhance functionality, stability, and efficiency
- Stay updated with new technologies, experiment, and embrace a fail-fast mindset
- Take ownership of tasks, suggest improvements, and work proactively to enhance software quality
- Work closely with other teams and product managers to implement new features
- Monitor and optimize application performance to ensure smooth user experiences
- Be available for on-call duties as part of a rotating schedule to support critical system issues
- Quickly diagnose and resolve production incidents to ensure high system availability
- Work proactively to reduce on-call disruptions by improving system reliability and monitoring
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AWS services (S3, EC2, CloudWatch)
- Familiarity with Jenkins for CI/CD automation
- Knowledge of frontend frameworks like Angular and React, as well as backend technologies like Node.js
- Exposure to monitoring tools (Kibana, New Relic)
- Prior experience working with payment processors (Adyen, Optile, Google Play)
- Hands-on experience refactoring and modernizing legacy PHP applications
