Responsibilities include creating changes that improve product development and engineering efficiency, maintaining infrastructure, and pioneering climate-conscious computing. You will also support engineers in understanding operational practices and foster technical growth within the team. Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in total for software development and in DevOps/Platform/SRE
  • Proficiency in a high-level programming language
  • Experience with a cloud computing platform and tools for container orchestration, infrastructure as code, and monitoring

Responsibilities

  • Improve & scale Ecosiaโ€™s cloud infrastructure and make development frictionless and operationally safe
  • Work on new technologies (e.g., CI/CD tooling, managed cloud services, configuration as code), implement monitoring solutions, and create tooling that optimises the developer experience
  • Support engineers across the organisation in their understanding of operational practices and support your direct colleaguesโ€™ technical growth
  • Creating changes that will have a direct impact on product development, engineering efficiency, and overall developer happiness
  • Improve, scale, and maintain all infrastructure that powers Ecosia, used by millions of users globally
  • Have a strong influence in pioneering the next generation of climate-conscious computing
  • Tackling questions such as How can we further enable our engineers' experience through empowerment, automation, and technology?
  • How can we ensure that our infrastructure, production systems, and running applications are secure, scalable, and reliable?
  • How can we enhance our telemetry and improve observability in all of our running systems?
  • How can we improve our incident detection and mitigation mechanisms and follow up on our blameless post-mortems?
  • How can we strengthen our collaborative and inclusive culture, in alignment with our core values?

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with our tech stack is considered beneficial, but not necessary
