Summary

Join the RVO Health Data Platform team as a technical leader supporting innovative projects for various businesses. Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure, SaaS applications, and cost optimization tools. Partner with Data Engineering teams to address security, infrastructure, and cost gaps. Lead greenfield projects from requirements gathering to implementation. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and policies. Stay updated on application, infrastructure, and AI advancements. The role requires 3+ years of platform engineering experience and hands-on cloud expertise (AWS preferred).

Requirements

  • At least 3+ years of experience in platform engineering or a related role
  • In depth and hands on understanding of cloud native principles, deployment architectures, and cloud services (AWS preferred)
  • Hands on experience with Terraform
  • Experience designing and implementing / deploying services and cloud solutions
  • A general understanding of security frameworks, standards, and regulations (e.g., NIST CSF, HIPAA)
  • Strong problem-solving and whiteboard style analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions in a dynamic environment
  • A working knowledge of cost optimization / reporting as it relates to SaaS spend
  • A general understanding of the A.I landscape and evolving technologies

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain the company's cloud infrastructure, SaaS applications, and cost optimization tools
  • Partner with Data Engineering teams to create visibility and awareness of security, infrastructure, and cost gaps and work to prioritize their resolution in a collaborative way
  • Embark on greenfield projects taking in requirements, designing and implementing them all the way through
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, and policies in accordance with industry best practices and regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA,PHI, PII)
  • Stay informed of the latest developments in tactics, techniques, and procedures related to application & infrastructure, and AI advancements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Data engineering experience
  • In depth knowledge of cost optimization and reduction
  • In depth knowledge of Databricks, Snowflake or other data tools
  • Some understanding of software development and the SDLC
