Platform Engineer, Backend Developer

Summary

Join Deel's growing DevEx team and contribute to the development and improvement of Giger, an internal developer tool for creating sandboxed production-like environments. The team focuses on enhancing developer productivity within Deel's rapidly expanding engineering department. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, participate in all stages of the software development lifecycle, and ensure a seamless user experience. The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience with Node.js or similar languages, Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, AWS or comparable cloud platforms, and database technologies. Requirements

• 5+ years of experience with Node.js or any other language
• Solid Kubernetes, Helm and Docker experience is a must (minimum 2+ yrs required)
• General AWS or similar cloud experience
• Experience with Postgres/Mysql, RabbitMq/Nats/Kafka
• Strong system design and problem solving skills, we often deal with the “unknown”
• Experience building complex CI/CD pipelines, we use Github Actions and ArgoCD
• Experience in building observability toolchain: logs, metrics
• Strong communication skills, we often need to orchestrate projects across 20+ teams
• You are hands-on troubleshooter
• You are ready for challenges

Responsibilities

• Be a part of a truly cross-functional team; Frontend Engineers, Product Teams, Designers and QA’s
• Participate in product planning (From discovery all the way to deployment); We want your input at all stages of the Software Development Lifecycle!
• Collaborate! Our teams work together to develop robust new features, API’s, continuously improve our industry-leading products and find and fix any bugs at Deel Speed
• Ensure our customers receive a white-glove experience with our products!

Preferred Qualifications

• Have experience building internal tooling: npm packages, frameworks
• Have past experience in DevEx or Platform teams
