Join ActiveProspect as a Platform Engineer I and contribute to building, developing, and maintaining the tooling that enhances our foundational infrastructure automation. You will play a key role in supporting the stability, scalability, and performance of our systems, working on critical projects with mentorship from senior engineers. This position offers opportunities to grow your skills in DevOps, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, observability, and cloud technologies. You will utilize exciting technologies to build and optimize our platform, which handles tens of millions of requests daily. The ideal candidate is passionate about learning new technologies, writing clean and scalable code, and solving complex technical problems. This role involves collaboration with other engineers to optimize cloud infrastructure and ensure system security and health.
Requirements
- Programming experience in any high-level language
- Proficiency working in a cloud environment (AWS)
- Familiarity with containerization and Kubernetes(Docker, EKS, Helm, , ECS, ECR, GitHub Container Registry)
- Familiarity with CI/CD and GitOps (GitHub Actions, ArgoCD)
- Knowledge of common databases and database best practices (PostgreSQL, RDS, DynamoDB, MongoDB, MySQL)
- Comfortable working within Ubuntu Linux operating systems
- Understanding of Git/Github and typical versioning workflows
- Familiarity with networking concepts (Firewalls, ACLs, routing, VPN, Load Balancers)
- Completion of a 4 year degree in engineering or computer science
Responsibilities
- Assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of internal platform tools and services
- Monitor and respond to issues in our production systems, helping troubleshoot and resolve incidents
- Write clear and concise documentation for tools, systems, and processes
- In partnership with senior engineers, upgrade GitOps, Kubernetes (AWS EKS/ArgoCD) and serverless (AWS Lambda) deployment patterns
- Work on and learn tooling to enable product development teams to build and deploy software as quickly and efficiently as possible
- Partner with other engineers across the organization to identify the optimal cloud infrastructure, networking, and storage design for each solution
- Collaborate daily with fellow team members to drive best practices and identify innovative strategies for successful delivery
- Manage credentials and permissions for developers and automated processes, helping ensure the security and health of our systems
- Identify, recommend, and implement system improvements to reduce infrastructure costs
- Participate in on-call rotation to ensure productionβs system availability meets SLAs
- Assist in compliance and security policies, SOC II testing, and remediation

- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code and Configuration Automation (Terraform)
- Compliance (SOC2 & GDPR)
- Secrets Management (AWS Secrets Manager, Doppler)
- Knowledge of service observability and telemetry (OTel, Datadog)
- Experience working on distributed database systems
