Platform Senior DevOps Engineer

Summary

Join our team as a Platform Senior DevOps Engineer and work fully remotely across the UK on a contract basis (Inside IR35). This role requires a university degree and 6+ years of experience. You will leverage your in-depth knowledge of hyperscalers like AWS and expertise in deploying and managing cloud-native applications. Experience with various tools and technologies is essential, including container orchestration, CI/CD pipelines, and security best practices. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and familiarity with SAP solutions.

Requirements

• Possess a university degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field
• Have 6+ years of technical professional experience
• Have in-depth knowledge of hyperscalers like AWS
• Understand deployment automation and tools such as Ansible and Chef
• Have experience with Infrastructure as Code
• Have experience with CI/CD pipelines
• Have experience with Monitoring tools
• Have experience with Logging tools
• Have experience with Cloud Networking tools
• Have in-depth experience in technologies used for deploying and managing Cloud-native applications
• Be familiar with GitLab and/or GitHub
• Have a scripting background
• Understand security best practices including hardened containers and images (STIG)
• Have experience with Security tools
• Have database knowledge such as SAP HANA
• Have expertise with OS such as Linux and RHEL
• Possess excellent oral and written communication skills in English

Preferred Qualifications

• Have expertise in SAP Converged Cloud (Open Stack)
• Have experience with Infrastructure as Code - Terraform
• Have experience with CI/CD pipelines e.g. ArgoCD, GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins
• Have experience with Logging e.g. Splunk, Elasticsearch, Logstash
• Have experience with Cloud Networking tools e.g. AWS VPCs, VNet, Google VPC
• Have in-depth experience in technologies used for deploying and managing Cloud-native applications: Container Orchestration tools e.g. Gardener, Kubernetes, Docker; Helm charts; Repository management e.g. Artifactory, JFrog; Service management tools e.g. Consul, Zookeeper
• Have scripting background e.g. PowerShell, Python
• Have experience with Security tools e.g. Hashicorp Vault, GitHub Secrets
• Have knowledge of SAP and the SAP solution portfolio
