Podcast Audio Editor

Summary

Join NerdWallet's Brand Studio team as a Mid-Level Podcast Editor on a contract basis (~30 hours/week). You will edit and assemble podcast episodes, collaborate with producers and clients, provide creative input, manage multiple edits, and maintain high standards. The ideal candidate possesses 5-7 years of podcast editing and production experience, proficiency in audio editing software, client management skills, and strong communication abilities. This remote role (US or Canada) offers an hourly rate of $65-$75. The contract runs from January to December.

Requirements

• 5-7 years of experience in podcast editing and production
• Proficiency in audio editing software (e.g., Adobe Audition, Pro Tools, Audacity)
• Experience working with clients and managing expectations effectively
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team
• A self-starter with strong organizational skills and a passion for audio editing

Responsibilities

• Edit and assemble podcast episodes, ensuring high audio quality and seamless flow
• Collaborate with producers, hosts, and clients to understand project goals and deliverables
• Provide creative input on content direction and structure, helping to shape narratives
• Manage multiple edits simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining high standards
• Consistently stay on top of tasks, manage priorities, and provide regular updates through wrike, our project management system
• Review and incorporate client feedback to refine final productions
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in podcast production
• Collaborating closely with the editorial team to make key creative decisions, including content selection, music, and sound design, ensuring each episode reaches its full potential and resonates with the audience

Preferred Qualifications

• Editorial experience or a background in storytelling

Benefits

• The hourly range for this position is $65-$75/hour
