Summary

The ACLU of Arizona is seeking policy interns for the Winter/Spring 2024 session. Interns will assist in all aspects of policy advocacy and work to advance civil rights and civil liberties issues. The internship offers a $15 per hour stipend, requires 10 to 15 hours of work per week, and is part-time.

Requirements

  • Interns must have completed at least two years of undergraduate education
  • Interns should possess strong writing and research skills, excellent communication skills (verbal and written), initiative, attention to detail, excellent organization and time-management skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, good interpersonal and analytical skills, commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, a personal approach that values the individual and respects differences, demonstrated interest in civil liberties, civil rights, and social justice, and commitment to the mission of the ACLU of Arizona

Responsibilities

Interns will attend legislative hearings and partner meetings, conduct research, analyze the impacts of existing laws and policies, identify key stakeholders, create educational materials, and assist in the preparation of reports, testimony, or other advocacy documents

Preferred Qualifications

Students in graduate programs and law students are strongly encouraged to apply
