Join Townsquare Ignite as the Political & Advocacy Sales Director and play a pivotal role in expanding the company's presence in the political and advocacy sectors. This remote position requires collaboration with a team and involves driving new business growth while nurturing existing client relationships. You will be responsible for the full sales cycle, from prospecting to closing, using a consultative approach. The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience in digital political media, a strong entrepreneurial spirit, and a passion for client success. This quota-carrying role demands a strategic self-starter who thrives in fast-paced environments and can manage multiple opportunities simultaneously. You will be responsible for identifying, pitching, and closing digital advertising campaigns with political, public affairs, and government media buyers.

Requirements

  • Proven success exceeding sales quotas within the political advertising ecosystem
  • 5+ years of digital advertising sales experience, ideally focused on political or advocacy media
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • A self-starter mentality with an entrepreneurial spirit and strong problem-solving abilities
  • Experience using CRM tools to manage pipelines, track performance, and uncover new opportunities
  • Proficiency in building persuasive pitch decks and supporting research to win new business
  • Willingness and ability to travel to meet with clients as needed

Responsibilities

  • Identify, pitch, and close digital advertising campaigns with political, public affairs, and government media buyers
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with local, state, and national political agencies, PACs, party committees, and advocacy groups
  • Serve as a strategic partner, providing insights and recommendations that help clients achieve their goals while delivering measurable ROI
  • Own the full sales cycle — from prospecting to closing — with a solutions-focused, consultative approach tailored to each client’s unique objectives
  • Represent Townsquare Ignite in virtual and in-person meetings, demonstrating subject matter expertise and a clear POV on industry trends and opportunities
  • Collaborate with Townsquare’s local Account Executives to support and close deals in-market
  • Analyze campaign performance data and translate insights into actionable recommendations that drive incremental revenue
  • Act as a strategic leader who balances immediate revenue results with scalable growth for the future of the business
