Requirements

• 3-5+ years of experience working in underwriting operations, insurance, pricing, underwriting, or actuarial roles within the insurance industry, preferably within a startup environment
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
• Experience in data modeling/analysis with tools like Looker and PowerBI and advanced Excel skills
• Excellent analytical, statistical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Strong knowledge around insurance principles, practices, and regulations
• Proficiency in analytical tools and software
• Strong organizational and project management skills
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all pricing and underwriting operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop and refine pricing models, underwriting guidelines, and risk assessments
• Coordinate with underwriting partners around data organization and alignment
• Analyze underwriting data and trends to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation
• Work closely with the finance team to ensure alignment of pricing strategies with financial goals and objectives
• Develop and implement processes and systems to streamline underwriting and pricing operations
• Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives to drive overall business growth and efficiency
• Prepare and present reports and analysis to senior management and other stakeholders
