Principal Cloud Engineer

Summary

Join Nagarro, a global digital product engineering company, as a Principal Software Engineer on the Cloud Platform team. You will design, develop, and maintain software components for globally used scientific measurement and analysis products. This role requires technical expertise, mentorship of junior engineers, and collaboration with stakeholders. You will contribute to backend development using C# and .NET, develop cloud-based solutions using AWS, and champion software engineering best practices. Success in this position demands strong communication skills and experience with AWS, microservices, and RESTful APIs. The ideal candidate will also possess experience coaching and mentoring developers.

Requirements

• Extensive software development experience, particularly with C# and the .NET Framework
• Solid experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microservices architecture, and RESTful API development
• Strong grasp of modern software engineering practices including Unit Testing, TDD, CI/CD, and agile methodologies
• Experience coaching and mentoring developers
• Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to a variety of audiences

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain software components within the Cloud Platform team
• Collaborate with stakeholders to address technical and software challenges
• Act as a technical expert, guiding best practices in coding standards, software process, and quality (e.g., adherence to Definition of Done)
• Coach and mentor junior engineers, supporting their growth and development
• Contribute to backend development using C# and the .NET Framework
• Develop and maintain cloud-based solutions using AWS, Microservices, and APIs
• Apply and advocate for software engineering practices such as Unit Testing, TDD, CI/CD, and SOLID principles
• Work within an agile development team to iteratively deliver high-quality software

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AWS CodeDeploy
• Familiarity with Continuous Delivery pipelines using Kubernetes and Docker
• Front-end development experience with JavaScript frameworks, especially Angular
• Monitoring and observability using Datadog
• Familiarity with GitHub and GitHub Actions
• Experience with Behaviour Driven Development (BDD), Gherkin, and SpecFlow
• Use of Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence) and artifact management with JFrog Artifactory
• Awareness and implementation of software security best practices (e.g., OWASP, PKI, X.509 Certificates, TLS)
• Experience working in regulated environments such as IVD or medical device software development
