Summary

Join the Department of Technology (DT) as a Principal Network Engineer to design, build, and support the City's public-facing municipal network. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with other teams and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • An associate degree in computer science, computer engineering, information systems, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university OR its equivalent in terms of total course credits/units
  • Five (5) years of experience analyzing, installing, configuring, enhancing, and/or maintaining the components of an enterprise network

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement the network infrastructure that supports the City's public-facing networks
  • Monitor the public-facing network's performance to identify and address any issues that may arise
  • Maintain the security of the network infrastructure
  • Respond to and troubleshoot network problems and identify the root cause of issues that arise
  • Work to safeguard the network infrastructure to ensure that it can recover quickly from unexpected disruptions
