Summary

Join Everbridge as a Principal Network Engineer in Budapest to design, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot our expansive computer network infrastructure. As a Senior Network Engineer, you'll be instrumental in ensuring operational excellence and robust security across both our physical and cloud-based network solutions.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Professional certifications such as NSE, CCNP or CCDP are highly valued
  • 4+ years of experience in network administration, showcasing a solid track record
  • Microsoft Azure networking experience involving design, deployment, configuration and optimization
  • 4+ years of experience with IaaS and PaaS solutions
  • Experience working within an Agile framework
  • Experience in IaC development with Terraform, Azure CLI, Puppet, and Ansible
  • Experience scripting with Python and PowerShell
  • Proficiency in network security practices, including VPNs, IDS/IPS, and access control mechanisms
  • Experience with network monitoring and diagnostic tools
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, with a knack for identifying and addressing network issues swiftly
  • A self-starter attitude, capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of DevSecOps and Agile methodologies is a plus
  • Deep understanding of communication protocols, especially TCP/IP, and routing protocols like BGP and OSPF
  • Proficient with Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal, with a keen attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the design and implementation of resilient and scalable network infrastructures
  • Manage and administer Microsoft Azure network cloud environment
  • Design, develop, and implement highly available, multi-region solutions within Microsoft Azure
  • Automate routine network tasks and assess their efficiency to streamline operations
  • Analyze existing operational standards, processes, and/or governance to identify and implement improvements
  • Develop infrastructure as code (IaC) leveraging cloud native tooling to ensure automated and consistent platform deployment
  • Develop and implement policy driven data protection best practices to ensure cloud solutions are protected from data loss
  • Install, configure, and maintain network hardware and software, adhering to best practices and security standards
  • Proactively monitor network performance and security, identifying and mitigating risks before they impact operations
  • Maintain detailed documentation of network setups, configurations, and architectures, ensuring clarity and accuracy
  • Keep abreast of the latest networking trends, technologies, and best practices, assessing their relevance and potential integration into our infrastructure
  • Collaborate with IT colleagues to enhance the overall IT infrastructure, sharing insights and offering cross-functional support
  • Engage in strategic project planning and execution, aligning network solutions with business goals and requirements
  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation to address and resolve technical escalations
