Principal Solution Engineering Lead

Requirements

• An active US Department of Defense or Intelligence SECRET clearance or higher
• A BS degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields
• CompTIA Security+ Certification
• 10+ years of experience as a Solution Engineer with DevOps experience, or equivalent software-engineering role
• Extensive experience leading application deployments to AWS, Azure, and/or Oracle Cloud environments, as well as on-premises data centers
• Experience with a variety of data storage technologies, including relational databases, NoSQL technologies, Elasticsearch, and others
• Experience with containerization and deployment of Machine Learning models
• Experience delivering software to multiple environments using automation and configuration management technologies
• Experience building deployment systems for rapidly developing and changing applications
• Strong experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, especially Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab, GitHub Actions, FluxCD/ArgoCD, etc, and enthusiasm to evaluate new ones for potential adoption
• Experience deploying rapidly evolving software and maintaining a flexible deployment paradigm to enable rapid iteration
• Experience deploying commercial software products into government customer environments
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, partner vendors, end users, and cross-functional teams
• Experience writing and leveraging infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or similar)
• Proficiency in at least one scripting language (i.e Bash, Python)

Responsibilities

• Lead deployment of the Yurts GenAI Product in customer compute environments using Kubernetes/Docker, Infrastructure as Code, and related technologies
• Own technical delivery plan and customer technical communications at all levels and manage scope and risk across customer engagements
• Develop automation scripts for provisioning, monitoring, backing up, patching, and deploying the Yurts product and underlying services
• Prepare packages required for application security Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M), Authorization to Operate (ATO), Certification to Field (CTF), and other security requirements presented by US Government Risk Management Frameworks (RMF)
• Ensure deployed applications have high availability, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery capabilities
• Work closely with product software engineering teams to integrate their project deliverables into customer production cloud and on-premises environments
• Troubleshoot complex system issues and work with customers, partners, and internal development teams to identify root causes and resolve them
• Stay current with new technologies and recommend innovative solutions that increase value and improve efficiency
• Enforce compliance with security best practices and policies
• Participate in the creation of the company's strategic IT roadmap
• Willingness to travel 25% to customer locations, company events, and conferences

Preferred Qualifications

• An MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields
• Experience with optimizing scale of production machine learning solutions involving orchestration of multiple models and data stores
• Experience in startup environments
