Summary

Requirements

  • Has prior experience building, maintaining & scaling reliable, high-volume distributed systems
  • Can reason about ambiguous problems from first principles and propose creative solutions
  • Has strong CS fundamentals (e.g., data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems)
  • Contributes to attracting and retaining engineers through technical leadership, collaboration, and/or enablement
  • Has a track record of mentoring and growing engineers who work with you. You make engineers around you more productive

Responsibilities

  • Hiring and retaining diverse and talented engineers
  • Mentoring engineers & growing future technical leaders
  • Working cross-functionally to translate business goals into the team’s roadmap
  • Nurturing engineering excellence via culture and process
  • Providing meaningful input to technical designs based on an in depth understanding of our systems & services
  • Ensuring the query service uptime and performance SLO/SLAs are met
  • Working with customers to improve their query performance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior engineering management experience, especially on teams that build and operate high volume, stateful distributed systems in SaaS environments
  • Prior Experience with database technologies, including their internal design and implementation
  • Prior Experience with multi-tenant systems, with focus on reliability, performance, isolation and security
