Private Equity Intern

Summary

Join HedgeServ's Private Equity department as an intern and gain hands-on experience in fund accounting. You will assist in producing quarterly NAVs, preparing investor P&L allocations, and processing capital calls and distributions. Responsibilities include reconciliations, escalating accounting issues, and working with supervisors on accruals. The role requires a positive attitude, strong communication and analytical skills, and proficiency in Excel. Interns will receive tailored induction and on-the-job training. Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Mathematics or Business Degree
• IT Literate with an emphasis on Excel
• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and well organized
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Assist in the production of quarterly NAV, ensuring completion of specified tasks per NAV PE checklists
• Prepare investor P&L allocations as part of monthly and quarterly NAV packages
• Assist in calculating and processing capital calls, capital distributions and statements for closed-end funds
• Perform cash, position and market value reconciliations
• Escalate fund accounting issues and aged items to the Private Equity Supervisor
• Work with the Private Equity Supervisor in calculating and processing income and expense accruals, including trading accruals
• Comply with HedgeServ’s defined checklists, procedures and controls
• Assist in the quarterly financial statement preparation
• Converse and liaise with internal service departments to resolve miscellaneous fund issues
