Summary

Join World Insurance Associates, a rapidly growing top 25 insurance broker in the U.S., as a Commission Accountant. You will review and reconcile producer and administrative commissions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company standards. Responsibilities include generating reports, reviewing rates and calculations, reconciling to GL balances, and preparing commission statements. You will also field inquiries from commission recipients and prepare journal entries as needed. The ideal candidate possesses a Bachelor's degree (preferred), minimum 2 years of accounting experience in the insurance industry, and proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential.

Requirements

  • Required Minimum of Β 2 years' experience in accounting, insurance industry
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Review producer and administrative commission as reported by our agency management system and other agencies when not fully integrated
  • Monthly admin/brokers/others - Run reports, review accuracy/ appropriate to ensure the rates and calculations are in line with Company standards and/or agreed upon amounts
  • Draw reconciliations including:Generating reports;reviewing accuracy of rates and calculations per Company standards/employment agreementsreconciling to GL balances
  • Provide reviewed amounts to payroll/accounts payable for payment
  • Prepare analysis as requested by management
  • Prepare/distribute final commission statements on monthly basis
  • Preparation includes confirming accuracy of commission rates per Admin Comp policy, broker agreements, offer letters or employment agreements
  • Provide payroll (or A/P) with payment information on timely basis
  • Field inquiries from all commission recipients including investigation into commissions, revised rates, shared business, etc
  • Prepare journal entries as needed
  • Review producer & broker commission reports to ensure the accuracy of rates and compliance with commission
  • Update employee profiles to reflect compensation agreements
