Summary

Join Ostrom, a leading European energy management platform, as their second Product Designer. You will play a crucial role in shaping user experiences for their mobile app and website, working on innovative features like dynamic tariffs and smart device integration. Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience working as a Product Designer, ideally with a focus on mobile products, in a fast-paced and dynamic startup/tech company or agency
  • Strong visual design skills, with understanding of how colors, typography, and spacing work
  • Understanding of mobile design principles, such as Human Interface Guidelines and Material Design
  • Knowing how to do user research and usability testing, with strong instincts on what makes a good user experience to delight customers
  • Stakeholder management skills, including communication, alignment, and gathering and integrating feedback β€” we like to promote a culture of transparency
  • Strong command of English β€” we are a vibrant international team with English being our company-wide language

Responsibilities

  • Design Ownership: Own the end-to-end design process for our mobile app and website. Work with Product Managers to research problems, conduct user interviews, and gather data. Create prototypes to test ideas, deliver designs ready for engineering, and measure success after launch
  • Customer Advocacy: Be in touch with customers and use design expertise to become an internal expert and advocate on how they think, what is a good user experience for them, and how we should reflect that in our product
  • Design Processes: Maintain and improve ongoing design processes, and artifacts such as design system, tooling, and collaboration methods
  • Collaboration: Work closely with our Senior Product Designer, Product Managers, the tech team, and other stakeholders to define requirements, facilitate workshops, iterate on solutions, and deliver designs that align with business & customer goals, and that balance design quality and timely delivery

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with consumer products that involve displaying complicated data and infographics
  • Experience with no-code site builders like Webflow or Readymag
  • Strong command of the German language β€” many of our customers are German speaking, so you can participate in interviews with them
  • Knowledge of front-end development and frameworks such as React or React Native. Bonus point, if you can code or vibe-code prototypes to communicate your ideas
