Product Designer

Summary

Join Smith.ai as a Product Designer and shape the features of our AI-powered products and internal tools, focusing on enhancing our AI Receptionist. You will collaborate with various teams, including Product, Ops, customer support, and marketing. This fast-paced role requires balancing design fidelity with business objectives. You'll work collaboratively within a small team, contributing to all stages of the product lifecycle. The ideal candidate is a thoughtful and curious problem-solver who thrives in a collaborative environment and is comfortable with ambiguity. This is a fully remote, full-time position based in the Eastern Time Zone.

Requirements

• Based in or operates primarily within the Eastern Time Zone (EST)
• 3-5 years in Product Design roles
• Experience in startups (Seed to Series B)
• Successful team-based remote work environment experience (e.g., Slack, Teams)
• Effective in Figma (our design tool of choice) and have used project management tools (e.g., ClickUp)
• Contributed to different stages of the product lifecycle, from shaping to execution to refinement

Responsibilities

• Collaborate: Partner with Product & Ops teams, customer support, and marketing to design and implement new products/features
• Participate in Cross-Functional Teamwork: Focus on collaboration across engineering, marketing, support, and operations teams
• Drive Project Execution: Oversee projects through completion and follow through with warranty work
• Define Requirements: Contribute to product definition and requirements to shape development
• Build the Design System: Support and grow the fledgling design system to ensure consistency and scalability
• Document for Engineering: Record design decisions and prepare work for engineering

Preferred Qualifications

• Spanish proficiency (conversational to fluent) to support collaboration with our Spain-based engineering team
• Product design experience within B2B product-focussed organizations
• Experience with prompting and AI/LLM tools

• This is a full-time position with a salary that ranges between $100,000 - $130,000 per year, depending on experience
