Product Designer

Summary

Join Thematic, a SaaS platform for customer feedback analysis, as a Product Designer to enhance our product's features and user experience. Based remotely in New Zealand, you will collaborate with product managers and engineers to develop user flows, wireframes, and visual design systems. You will iterate on designs, gather feedback, and mentor other designers. The ideal candidate possesses 4+ years of UI/UX design experience, including at least 2 years in a product company, and is proficient in Figma and various AI design tools. Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in UI, UX, IA, and design
• At least 2 years working in a product company
• You value efficiency and love getting things done - we’re a small team, so we need people who pull up their sleeves
• You’re a pragmatic designer who adapts your process to match the problem, not the other way around
• You’re a clear communicator - able to explain your thinking both in writing and in person
• You’re comfortable working in iterative stages and adapting based on feedback
• You take pride in your meticulousness, but you don't let it consume you
• Based in New Zealand

Responsibilities

• Developing user flows, wireframes, and functional specs to communicate design concepts
• Defining visual design systems, style guides, and best practices
• Improving our product in an iterative fashion, shipping lean versions and refining over time
• Creating quick prototypes or wireframes (even low-fidelity ones) to gather early feedback
• Collaborating closely with Product Managers and Engineers early in the design process
• Communicating design decisions clearly and aligning them with user needs and business goals
• Mentoring other designers in the team

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience gathering user feedback without the support infrastructure of a large company
• A drive to cater to customer needs and preferences
• Experience designing SaaS products
• Experience working in a small team- having a hands-on attitude goes a long way at Thematic!

• You'll have a base salary of $100,000-$125,000 per year (negotiable, and depends on level of experience), plus employee stock options

• You'll work remotely in comfort. We'll pay $400 per month towards a private or a shared office space (tax free)
