Summary

Join Esri's product engineering writing team as an experienced, creative, and hard-working writer to create engaging stories about web mapping and data exploration. You will produce reference help documentation, blog articles, videos, guides, and tutorials about mapping and data in ArcGIS for Microsoft Fabric, a new Esri offering integrating ArcGIS capabilities into the Microsoft Fabric platform. Collaborate with various teams at Esri to communicate best practices in web mapping, data exploration, and dynamic visualization. This role requires a planning, problem-solving, and analytical mindset to translate complex ideas into clear and compelling messages. The position demands effective time management and the ability to thrive in an agile environment. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Requirements

  • Portfolio Submission: Writing samples of your recent work
  • 2+ years of professional writing experience related to ArcGIS or web GIS; ideally a blended background including technical and creative writing
  • Exposure to web-based content management systems to create and publish documents
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to translate complex concepts into clear, concise, compelling content
  • Effective time management and organizational skills; work proactively and volunteer assistance without being asked and under tight turnaround
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in an agile environment with a fluid mix of collaborative and independent work
  • Bachelor's in GIS, Geography, English, or related field

Responsibilities

  • Write documentation in the ArcGIS help system about ArcGIS for Microsoft Fabric mapping
  • Create blog articles, videos, guides, and tutorials for GIS practitioners that provide guidance, best practices, and applied workflows for web mapping, data exploration, and more
  • Create innovative workflows for using ArcGIS for Microsoft Fabric in various communities, programs, and industries
  • Collaborate with development, product marketing, product management, documentation, sales, and other teams to provide learning resources about ArcGIS for Microsoft Fabric

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with ArcGIS
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric
  • Master’s in GIS, Geography, English, or related field
