Production Designer

Summary

Join a dynamic production design agency as a remote Production Designer! Collaborate with a team to execute design projects for CPG companies, encompassing packaging layouts, marketing assets, and more. You will create photorealistic mockups, marketing assets, and print-ready files. This role demands strong design skills in print and digital media, proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, and experience managing multiple projects simultaneously. The position is a 40-hour-per-week independent contractor role with weekly pay, offering flexibility within a PST schedule. While vacation and holiday policies are determined by the client, the agency provides a supportive and collaborative work environment.

Requirements

• At least 5 to 10 years of experience in print design and preparation for print (e.g., understanding bleed, trim, and color modes)
• Fluency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
• Experience in digital design for basic sales and marketing assets including but not limited to web assets, social media assets, email layouts, static ads
• Proficiency in Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Drive) and file-sharing platforms such as Dropbox, WeTransfer, and Google Drive
• Fluency and strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken
• Ability to adapt quickly to tight deadlines and fast-paced client requirements
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple design tasks and deadlines from a variety of clients
• Portfolio showcasing your experience with packaging and marketing design assets
• Previous experience working with CPG companies or within agencies that service CPG companies

Responsibilities

• Assist with packaging design, technical layout, and pre-press preparation for both print and digital formats
• Create photorealistic mockups to visually represent final packaging and marketing materials, often using existing templates
• Execute and/or iterate marketing assets including social media content, email templates, and web assets based on a client brief and often a completed design strategy
• Produce ready-to-print files for materials such as sell sheets, price lists, table tents, postcards, and event/installation ephemera
• Collaborate with the Director of Design and the broader team to meet client needs and ensure high-quality outputs
• Interface with clients professionally to understand project requirements and provide updates
• Manage multiple design tasks simultaneously while ensuring fast turnaround times
• Prepare and organize design files for print, working with print vendors to ensure correct file specifications
• Communicate effectively and professionally with both clients and internal team members, particularly with regard to file preparation and design considerations

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with InDesign and/or Figma
• Experience with project management tools like Trello, Asana, or Monday
