Summary
The job is for a Project Governance Director at Longbow Advantage, a warehousing strategy company. Requirements
- Bachelorโs degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Information Technology, or a related field. A Masterโs degree is preferred
- 10+ years of experience in project management or governance roles, preferably within a consulting or large enterprise environment
- Proven experience managing large-scale system implementations, with a strong understanding of project governance frameworks and best practices
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders and customers
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of identifying and managing project risks and issues
- Experience with change management and the ability to lead organizations through complex transformations
- Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, JIRA, Trello) and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall)
- Project Management Professional (PMP), PRINCE2, or similar certification is highly desirable
- Ability to travel up to 40%, depending on project requirements
Responsibilities
- Governance and Oversight: Establish and maintain a robust project governance framework to oversee the implementation of multiple systems
- Status Management: Monitor the overall status and progress of different parties (internal teams, third-party vendors, and stakeholders) and systems involved in the project. Provide regular updates and reports to senior management and the customer
- Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for communication with the customer, ensuring clear, consistent, and timely updates on project status, milestones, and deliverables. Facilitate effective communication among all project stakeholders
- Risk and Issue Management: Identify, assess, and manage risks and issues that could impact project delivery. Develop mitigation strategies and action plans in collaboration with stakeholders
- Performance Tracking: Utilize project management tools and techniques to track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to project progress, quality, and budget. Ensure that all parties are meeting their commitments
- Advisory Role: Serve as a trusted advisor to the customer and senior management, providing insights and recommendations on project strategy, system implementation, and stakeholder engagement. Offer guidance on best practices and industry standards
- Change Management: Lead change management efforts to ensure smooth transition and adoption of new systems. Develop and implement change management plans, including training, communication, and support strategies
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including senior executives, project managers, technical teams, and third-party vendors. Ensure stakeholder needs and expectations are understood and met
- Continuous Improvement: Promote a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance project management processes, tools, and methodologies. Implement best practices to drive efficiency, effectiveness, and quality in project delivery
